13.10.2022 - Since 2011, an additional 1% contribution to unemployment insurance has been levied on salary components above an income of CHF 148'200. The so-called solidarity percentage is paid equally by employers and employees.
The solidarity contribution may be levied until the equity capital of the unemployment insurance fund exceeds the threshold of CHF 2.5 billion. The current figures of SECO show that this threshold will actually be exceeded by the end of 2022. This means that the right to levy the solidarity percentage will cease by law as of 1.1.2023.
